Hello I have two guinea pigs both 1 year old. I weighed them today and they both were 2.5 pounds. Is that good? I don't know what there supposed to weigh.

you go on condition not weight. I have a 1050g girl who is overweight, I have a 900g boy who is seriously underweight, I have a 950g girl who is fine and a 1000g girl who coudl do with a little more on her but is OK.

Just to add my 1000g girl should be 1150g and my 900g boy should be 1250g - that woudl give each the right condition but my 1050g girl should really be nearer 980g.

I have two females. Ok..so how can I tell if they are fat? I know there supposed to have a little weight on them but not to much. I don't over feed them they get endless supply of Timothy hay and 1 cup a day of veggies. Just tablespoon of pellets.

Ok thank you so much. I'm just so worried they are over weight and I don't want that.

Betsy weighed in last week at 1315g and she should be 1275g but we had been away for a week and my piggy sitters gave my lot far too many pellets as a fortnights worth was gone in a week! Hopefully at this weeks weigh in (tomorrow) she will have lost the extra weight. I only ever give the 5 of them four small handfuls of pellets a day.
