I weighed my little sows this morning, before feeding.
They were born on 5th November 2011.
Daisy-Boo is 404gs
Dolly-Pipsqueak is 483gs
I'm quite confident that they're both healthy, happy girls but as a first time owner I'd just like to know if that's under, average or overweight for their age.
Can you tell me please? Thanks. rolleyes
 
The weights are not the highest for three months old piggies, but neither are they worryingly low. At that point, a lot still depends on the original birth weight etc... Your girls are still on track to reach a good average adult weight!

Far more important than the absolute weight is a steady weekly weight gain of about 20g (sometimes 30g) and a good "heft" - no bony feel, alert and active healthy behaviour. Just continue with a good diet and you will get there!

The adult pet weight is typically about 900-1400g (it can be anything between 800-1800g and still be healthy), and your girls have a full year left to go before they stop growing between 12-15 months old! You will notice that the growth rate starts slowing down more between 6-9 months old.
 
There is not really any 'ideal weight' for any age of pigs. Just so long as their body condition score is good. For example you cannot easily feel boney prominances (ribs/pelvis/spine) then they are not underweight. They do sound perfectly healthy to me, just small ladies.

They don't feel skinny, coats are good, eyes bright, noses clean, both ends functioning ok........lots going in and lots coming out! :x
All-in-all I think it might just be how they were kept and fed before I got them. Rabbit food in one dish, a few veg every so often and too many piggies in a confined space. Usual story, you know. mallethead
Not to worry they're certainly happy enough here, you should see them popcorning with sheer delight. Heaven only knows what they'll do when their new playpen arrives for out of the cage play. :))
They've gone from rescue piggies to being a pair of thoroughly pampered and spoilt rotton princesses. Just as it should be. x) x) x) x)
