Weird Actions

so this is weird, cant figure it out help!

So i feed him by hand eats and hides sometimes I take him up and he will lay on my chest in a towel and pur and weak some. He likes being pet..

So I let him run in the kitchen some, Safe, nothing he can get into. Have food, water, igloo, towel, Hay all in there for him, and he runs away a lot from me.. He also has been chattering/grinding his teeth in there as well.. He only does it when hes walking around in there and if i get too close to him, I can pick him up and hes fine and in the cage hes fine.. I dont get this behavior? Can someone help?

He might just be scared in the big space of the kitchen, and he just needs to get used to it, which he will soon. Sometimes even very friendly guinea pigs will run away when you try to catch them, but once you're holding them they'll be happy. Well that's what my two baby boys are like, but I think they'll settle down when they're grown up like my other pigs. Because once I'm holding them they lick my hand and squeak away happily.

Same with mine. When they're outside for example they'll run away from me, but once I have them in my hand they settle down and are quite content. I'm sure yours will settle down eventually once he gets used to it and you.

It's worth making it really obvious when you are going to pick him up. This actually makes them harder to catch, but it's worth it because the rest of the time, they get much tamer.
