One of my girls has been really quiet the last few days, and I've been getting quiet concerned.

Just had them out for lap time and the other two tucked into their babycorn, but Cookie just sat there.

I decided to give her a quick check over and her belly feels really weird...it feels bigger? And I dunno....watery? I dunno if its just the angle, but it seems to be over on one side.

She seems so dull on my la, and didn't even wriggle.

Any idea what might be wrong? Should I take her from the other two?

From your description I would say a vet trip to a cavy savvy vet would be wise, sooner rather than later - bloat would be my first suspect and requires immediate treatment. Remove all fruit and veg until you have a diagnosis.

Fluid retention can present as a water balloon feel to the pig so would be another suspect, diurectics would be appropriate treatment.

Is she eating and drinking normally?

None of my girls drink alot, so its hard to tell.

Food wise, she seems fine. She was at brekkie this morning and seemed to eat ok. None of them have been to the normal food bowl or hay yet this evening.

She's just gone for the babycorn crumbs on my lap now though, so she has still got an appetite. (am cleaning up the rest of the crumbs as suggested).

She seems to be perking up a little just getting snuggled, but is definitely not herself :(

Will try and get her to the vets asap - a cavy savvy one is listed above!

Just thought I would update (as it helps stop me from worrying too much too!).

Cookie is much more herself this morning - popcorning round the cage, doing laps. She's had drop of water and quite happily tucked into the hay. I keep getting mournful looks from all 3 as I haven't given them any veggies (just incase). I checked her over again and the weird belly is still there.

Am currently waiting for mum to wake up so I can try and persuade her to take Cookie to the vets (I have work today, and as the manager - have no one to cover my shift :(), if not today - definitely tomorrow.

I'm hoping the fact she seems to have perked up is a good sign!
