I noticed yesterday, there is either something stuck - or a scab just under my piggies nose. You know you have their nose, and then the vertical line that leads to the mouth? its stuck there :(

Ive tried to move it out but it doesn't really move much. From profile I can see it sticking out slightly.

Its really worrying me, should i make him let me get it out? Or leave it?
I know he's not in any pain as he's popcorning around like mad - but I'm worried it could give him an infection.....

here is a picture - please if you can help id be really happy and relieved of any advice you can give x

Rodney had something like that, and it turned out to be a tomato seed! Have you fed him any tomatoes lately?

I removed it by using a cotton wool pad and warm water. But dont force it as it will hurt, it may even just fall off on its own.

sorry guys - the forum wouldn't load up for ages, I hate how it does that :(

Thanks so much for replying, I really appreciate it.

Amanda I had a look at those pictures, and it doesn't look the same as Diego's nose. Although it could be in an early stage hence looking different so I might try and treat for it just in case?

I gave them tomato for the first time 3 days ago.....that is a very interesting theory! I only gave them cherry tomatos and it looks around the size of one of those seeds. Thank you for your help! It does bother him when I try to move it. Maybe I should leave it for a few days? I dont want him to hurt :(

Thanks so much guys x

It happened a few times with him, so when I gave him tomatoes I tried to take as many out as I could.

It will fall out, but if its bothering him the cotton wool pad with warm water should work. Just try not to make the pad too wet as you dont want the water going into his nostrils x

Thanks so much :)

Will def def def take ALL seeds out next time. Its not bothering him, so will wait it out for a few days and then try the cotton pads. I feel so much better now. You are all lovely kind people taking the time to help us :) x

That looks like a yeast infection, Humbug had similar, only on her lips and no where else.. was a swine to clear up..

A yeast infection :( oh no. It does stick out though, and its solid like a scab. If you look at him side on its sticking out slightly. Does that sound similar to what your guys had? How did you treat it? x

The vet prescribed a ear drop solution (can't remember what it was called - Surolan?) it treats fungal and other infections, your best seeing your vet maybe get scab swabbed to see what it is if it gets any worse or doesn't start healing in a day or so.. I wouldn't worry yourself about it, like others said it might be a tomato seed, i'm just looking at other possibilities... Have you tried bathing it? Salt water solution should soften it, then you'll no for sure :)

Thanks so much :)

I will keep an eye for a few days, if its still there I'll try to clean it with a cotton pad. If that doesnt take it out off to the vet I go! x

FIXED IT!

I brought him out to have a look at his nails, and he was all snuggled up in my lap. Then out of nowhere he got up and started frantically trying to pull whatever it is out of his nose, using his little paws and rubbing his nose on his body.

I got the cotton pad and wiped his nose, and it came out halfway - lil diego pulled the rest out with his paw. I have no idea what it is - dark brown and really hard? I held it trying to figure out what it was and it softened a bit. Maybe it was one of his poo's? I clean out all the poo's every day though so who knows.

But its out, and he's happy - thank you everyone! xx

Maybe he'd been snuffling around and accidentally inhaled a bit of poop? :)>>> Poor little man...........PHEW glad to hear it's all A OK now :)

pssssst Diego stop worrying you mummy xoxo
