Hi everyone, i just noticed one of my piggies have a weird crust on his nose and i asked my vet about it but he says by the pics it looks like a scar of auto inflicted wounds but i doubt that, you guys have any idea?

Hi!

It is impossible to tell from your picture whether it is the start of a fungal skin infection (ringworm; for pictures see the green guide link earlier in the thread) or whether it is some 'boar glue' (i.r. dried semen fluid) stuck to the nose, which is not uncommon in boars when they are nosing around down there.

If it is a ringworm patch, you will see a quickly developing crusty bald area over the next few days. if it is boar glue, then it will eventually fall off or be ripped off by the piggy (in which case there may be a small bald area without fungal crusts). Please see your vet accordingly.
