I could reply but I can't be bothered.
Is that statement accompanied by sighs of relief from around the world!!??

Just be careful they don't bite you on the bum like Flora nearly did to Peter :)):)):))

I've never mentioned it before, because I thought people would think me strange and not believe me anyway, but I have seen Schmichael since he passed.

When he was here he would go into the piggy room, and they would all start wheeking loudly at him and they would all be stood up at the bars of their cages when I went to see what was happening. On a few occasions just after he went to Rainbow Bridge I would hear the piggies all going crazy, just as if they were being entertained by Schmichael, and when I went in there they would be stood at the bars going crazy, but obviously Schmichael wasn't there. Once when it happened I went in and there was a strong rabbit smell in there. I kept thinking why can they see him but I can't.

A few months ago I was sat downstairs syringe feeding Pops and watching TV and I looked up from giving Pops her next syringe full and there sat in front of one of the cages I have in the lounge, was Schmichael. As clear as anything! It just seemed normal for him to be there as that's where he always was, guarding the piggies. For a few seconds it didn't really seem strange to be seeing him, and then when I looked again he was gone. I wasn't even thinking of him at the time so I couldn't just have imagined him. Then last Saturday I had been outside to feed the pigs who are now in the garage and as I came back in the front door he was sat at the bottom of the stairs! Again within seconds he had gone, but I have no doubt about what I saw.

I've only told a few people about this because I know I am risking total ridicule by some, but I know what I saw and I know my little man is still here with us.

It's ok that you've now told everyone darling.......i'm sure everyone will understand and know that the connection you had with Schmichael was just amazing and YES he was there with you...and he'll shift with you too xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>

No one will ridicule you Debbie and what a comfort to you to know that he is there....you are fortunate really as I would love to see Lennie again but I don't think I ever will 8... He comes to me in different ways though, when I smell basil and see cherries, so that will have to do.

Hugs to everyone who has lost their beloved pet xx

Thanks Glynis and Fiona! I don't think we ever forget out special little friends, and even when we are going about our normal daily life so many things remind us of them. Whenever I see the bags of Babyleaf Herb Salad in Tesco I always think of Schmichael because that was his favourite! Badger left his mark just about everywhere, cos he was a devil for chewing things. :))

it always seems to happen when you least expect it and the mind is pretty much at rest which seems to make us more susceptible to seeing them or even smelling them! :)p

But I am glad you have had a nice experience Debbie x)

This is a very interesting topic. I've always been interested in this kind of stuff. A few days after Dippy died, I was lying in the garden and my rabbit Nosey was running around. I heard this tapping sound on the decking behind me a couple of time as if there were some little paws running around on the decking, I first thought it was Nosey sneaking up behind me but when I turned around there was nothing there...

I have just bought a book called Pets have souls too and it's about these kind of experiences, I am really looking forward to reading it.

When we left Misty in the vets I felt something. I'm not really sure what it was but something felt different and I just knew the worst had happened to him. I was trying to tell mum to not go into Sainsburys because I had to get home to check the answer machine and I never ever check it and we went home and there was a meaage saying we were to phone back. I think it creeped mum out a bit and I've had alot of experiances with family members dying and the same thing happening. When my grandad was dying I stated walking home from school to make it easier for mum and dad but one day I was sitting in class and I just suddenly though 'My grandad his died..' it played on my mind all day and on the way home it was all I could think about and sure enough when I got home mum said he'd died in the afternoon and it wasn't long before I had that though but I've never said anything to mum or dad about it incase they think I'm being weird or something.. When Sooty died I started seeing black shadows floating about then white ones started when Brandy died and now Misty has died I see white ones more often and I just feel like they are with me. About 2 years ago I got up for the toilet one night and I went to walk into my room and turned around and saw our old poodle Cheeko and I said Cheeko come here then looked away but when I looked back he was gone. It felt so real. I sense alot of things but I don't really talk about it because I feel people won't beleive it.

I can't say I ever felt anything - but I can tell in my guts the moment I hand a guinea pig over for an op how it's going to turn out. So far, I've never been wrong - even the last time when I felt absolute nothing, because Llewi didn't need an op!

Cherry that is really interesting about the book. Will have to try and get a copy. :)

Yes, I was interested too ... can you please tell us the author?

This is a most interesting topic - since PetCook mentioned his experience, so many others have shared theirs, yet I'm sure have never mentioned it before (like me) in case it sounded too far-fetched.

Two very distinc words come to mind "Watership Down" 8... 8... 8... 8...

I've just found that book

[ame]http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pets-Have-Souls-Jenny-Smedley/dp/1848500904[/ame]

I'm going to order it.

I never thought I would be able to tell people about seeing my boy, and had only mentioned it to a few. I typed out my post and so nearly deleted it, because I was so worried that people would think I was weird. It's lovely to hear that others have also seen their special friends again.

oh no one would ever think that! :)

i am a true believer in it, i have had a few experiences with paranormal, i have also been on several investigations and find them so intruiging. Its ever since my and smum started experiexcning things and seeing things at our old house (but neither of us told either other, only my other sister who found out we were seeing the same thing ). we moved in the end - it got too much to cope with!

Why would you feel ridiculed? If I felt that way I would have never posted but hey, all I was reporting was my experience and how I felt at the time! If people want to ridicule others on a sensitive subject that many people have experienced then they obviously have no manners and to me would not be welcome here, which is no digg to anyone in particular, just a statement of my feelings on the subject.

You have a strong bond with your pets so could be very sensitive to happenings and to be honest I am glad they happen.

I would recommend anyone else who have experienced weird happenings, to share with us! :)p

I am so pleased that people have been able to post their experiences. I had one when a colleague of mine passed away i woke up in the night and saw her she was just as she was at home wearing her apron as she always wore in the kitchen and she said that she was not happy and could not hang on any longer (she had cancer twice) whilst she was there i felt an amazing comfortable feeling that i have never felt before in my life. Ken my other half stirred in his sleep then she went.

I did not tell him straight away as i thought he would think i was daft and say i was dreaming. Told my mum straight away and she believes that Joan did come to see me that night.

Often when i am on the computer or watching tv i think i can see one of my cats out of the corner of my eye sat on the floor next to me but when i look properly none of them are there. Its odd i wonder sometimes if its my cat Herbie that we had 11 years. Really strange but comforting at the same time.

I think sometimes we need to be brave enough to admit what we have seen, and then others will speak up too about their experiences, which is exactly what has happened here. I'm so glad you told us what happened to you Peter.

One of the small children I minded was sat playing with her toys when suddenly she stopped, pointed and a big smile spread up her face. I looked to see what she had seen and there was nothing. I then watched her eyes follow something across the room towards the door, and then she just said 'gone'. She had obviously seen something I couldn't see. I immediately asked her what she had seen, but at 18 months she just didn't have the language to be able to tell me. She was looking at something close to the floor because she wasn't looking upwards. I wonder if she saw Schmichael, or maybe some of the piggies who are no longer here.

Aww Lindsay thats hard to take when you see someone who's got a terminal illness. You just want to rush out and see if they are ok, but in your heart you know to just wait to hear the news.
