Just today I’ve noticed My boar who is coming on 6 years old is doing some wierd things with his mouse and I’m just wondering if any has seen this?

Fed him and his buddy lettuce he ate one bit and then preceded to spend the next couple minutes opening and closing his mouth as wide as a yawn just being a bit odd never seen this and I’ve had piggies for 10 years! I think he ate a little bit more and then did the same thing and then it was all gone!

He is currently chomping away at hay right now and eats well and everything. He does sadly suffer from impact ion which i help him out with.

Does this sound like anything serious or that anyone’s seen?
Thank you.

(Thought I would attach some pics of them two ;)) he is the smaller one with a white teddy face xx)

One of my piggies does this sometimes and he is fine although a bit strange lol but it can be a sign of teeth problems so I would recommend a vet check just in case.

It is likely that something has got stuck in the mouth or teeth. If it continues or your piggy is starting to lose weight (switch from the regular weekly weigh-in to a daily one always at the same time in the fedling cycle), please have the back teeth checked for stuck food or overgrowth.

It does sound a bit like problem with his teeth as @Wiebke has said. If it persists I would ask a vet to check his teeth.
