Hi all, new to this but quite concerned, can’t find anything that matches the noise my Cody is making. He’s around 6 and a half years old, and has been making this noise almost constantly, strange as he is usually quite quiet. Can anyone help me out?
A bit of background, we picked him up from a friend who could no longer look after him when he was 4, he now lives with a currently 4 year old female and they get along. He has definitely lost weight, but is still eating and drinking pretty normally.

I'm not a health and illness expert but I'd say he needs to see a vet asap. It sounds like a respitory infection to me. I'm dealing with one myself at the moment, my piggy is eating and drinking okay as well. Sending Cody healing vibes.

By replying here I have bumped you up I'm sure an expert will be along soon to confirm what I have said. Your post had dropped a long way down the list as it was night here when you posted and most of our experts are in the UK.

He needs to see a vet - sounds a like an upper Respiratory infection possibly. He needs to see a vet and get the vet to listen to his breathing and lungs with a stethoscope

Can I ask your location please?

I’m in Northern Ireland, and contacting the vet right now to book an appointment, will keep you updated. Thank you so much for replying.

Good luck. I hope your piggy is better very soon.
The vet’s recommended we completely clean his cage and use towels/newspapers as bedding and feed him a lot- then monitor his progress and make an appointment if there’s no improvement.
