I'm new with piggies and they been with me for almost 3 months. I clean there cage 4 times a week. And I notice the Colorado of there poo is dark in Colorado and solid like in any healthy cavy I've read. But for the past 2 day there poo it's been really light in Colorado. Is that normal? They been eating and drinking normally. But they have been drinking a lot more water. And they been with out vegetable for the past 2 days also. They've only been eating pellets, Timothy hay and a lot of water. Please let me know if it's normal the change in the Color. I don't want my piggies sick.

P.S. They are jumping and running like always.

The change in colour is probably due to them not having veg but just water. Piggies get a lot of the fluid they need from fresh veg, so if they don't have any, they will drink more. Please make sure that they have at least a bit of veg daily.

The less fresh matter they have the lighter they get, I took in some rescues who had been living on hay and their stools were dry and yellow within 24 hours they was passing normal stools, they need some form of fresh food each day even if its a tiny bit :)

Thank you. Yes I got them vegetable today. And new pellets that help there immune sistem. Hopefully they like them. I want the best for my piggies. Tank you so much for the advice.

You will hopefully get into a routine when you know how much of each veg your piggies eat between shops!

Please switch your new pellets over slowly with the old pellets by mixing increasingly less old and increasingly more new pellets. Many piggies don't like sudden changes.
