We have just adopted a beautiful big boy called Jasper! We believe he is around 5 months old but has suffered from quite a few chest infections throughout his life. We collected him yesterday after about a month of debating and cannot be happier! His current set up is very temporary whilst we wait for the C&C cage extension and he is quarantined. I took him to the vets this morning and they have put him back on a 10 day course of antibiotics as his chest was still a bit crackly but when he’s all better we are hoping to bond him with our 2 boars.

I am aware that bonding 3 boars is difficult but not impossible, we are making our cage much bigger and have a plan B for if it doesn’t work I was just wondering if anyone had any other advice? Also he has been weighed at 1023g which is much bigger than Kuzco and Kronk were at his age, however I feel like he hasn’t been on the best diet and could be a little bit overweight, should I continue my plan to give him veggies slowly?
As you can see, he’s not a shy boy!

All you can do is follow the normal bonding procedure and have a plan b for separating into a pair and a single or potentially three singles if adding him disrupts the bond between your original pair.

He is a big boy! My two almost 7 month olds don’t weigh that much yet!
I would work on getting him onto a good hay based diet and introduce veg slowly

Aw he is gorgeous, good on you for taking him on. Boar trios don’t usually work, be prepared with oven gloves at hand, good luck 🤞

He’s lovely. Sorry to hear he’s poorly. Hope the antibiotics work quickly for him. But I’m afraid at 5 months he’s not really a good candidate for boar bonding. All I can say is good luck.
