Just to bring anyone up to speed who may have missed our little saga - Mollie sadly and unexpectedly lost her beloved husboar Mr Ted 2 weeks ago. She was moping and miserable on her own.
We then went on a road trip to Walsall RSPCA to meet 4 of the most handsome and friendly young neutered boars. I loved each of them but Mollie decided she knew best so we came home alone and she went back to being mopey.
So Plan B rolled into action and yesterday we went to the Potteries Guinea Pig Rescue where Mollie had a date with a single baby sow who is between 10 and 12 weeks. Plan B worked a treat and we brought home little Mabel with us. So far so good. No teeth chattering or rumbling or aggression - Mollie is just asserting her dominance at the moment so there is lots of chasing and squealing from Mabel but no nipping or biting.
Apologies for the state of their cage - not been tidying so as not to upset baby Mabel. It's been 16 years since I had a baby piggy in my house and she looks so tiny compared to Mollie at the moment. And she's so fast. Today after cuddles she went back in her cage and popcorned so I think she's settling in just fine.
