When I took Llelo's litter brother on the train to Leicester on Tuesday to hand him over to Neville's Nest Guinea Pig Rescue, I didn't come back with an empty carrier, but with the most adorable baby girl imaginable!

To be honest, I still can't believe my luck to have got the nod! Out of a mis-sexed pet shop pair that turned into family of 9 by the time the second, back-to-back litter of five had been born in rescue - little Daisy (now renamed Carys 'Love') was the only one that had not already had a single enquiry and a prospective home because of her ruby eyes.
In fact, she was ticking all my boxes - I'd lost my two last lilacs Calli and Iola within two weeks in early summer and my remaining perus and coronets are all 6-7 years old. I already miss not having at least one lilac around and dread to see my long-hairs following them...
Carys has joined 2 1/2 years old Gethin 'Dusky' and his remaining now 7 1/2 years rather elderly lady Ffwlbri 'Moonlight' (pronounced Fullbree), so he has hopefully somepig to keep him busy and happy for the rest of his life and I can spare him any pining.

Carys has been rather shy at first, but she has now settled in well and is turning out to be a proper little popcorning cracker! Dominance has been minimal.
The end of her first popcorning session:

And here is she trashing the cave top after already ousting a napping Gethin from the cave:
PS: Baby boy #3 has been paired up with another incoming boar at Neville's Nest GPR; he is now called Thunder and his new mate is Lightning.
