Two 7 months old sisters have travelled up from Little Pip's Rehoming in Southeast England this week thanks to @furryfriends (TEAS), who has very kindly provided the transport all the way from the South Coast on her way home from a holiday.

Hapus (Welsh for "Happy") and Llawen ("Merry") are Bracknell babies, resulting from a very large multi-rescue action of long-term neglected piggies, with most sows pregnant. Sadly, a large number of the rescue born babies were dead-born or died before the end of the nursing period; as did some mums before they could give birth. This was also the reason why several attempts to adopt Bracknell babies have failed over concerns of carrying bugs into the Tribe. Hapus and Llawen were amongst those I did enquire about over the last half year. :(

So I am very happy that several months down the line, they are now fit to travel so far and come here!

The girls are still very skittish around humans (which is why they were stuck in rescue), but they have settled in extremely quickly in the piggy room and have this morning bonded with my Trio. In fact, feisty Hapus has taken matters into her own paws and has managed to somehow wiggle through a dividing grid to introduce herself a few hours earlier than planned!
Thankfully, the bonding has gone very smoothly and the group is currently busy settling down together in their refurbished pen with the inevitable dominance. Needless to say that the Mighty Carwyn is a very happy husboar right now with his enlarged liquorice allsorts harem!

Coming after losing my two oldest Tribe piggies Nerys and Hywel so soon after each other, I am enjoying some much needed happiness!

Briallen ("Primrose"), Carwyn ("Blessed Love"), Hapus ("Happy), Llawen ("Merry") and Heini ("Lively") during the bonding.

Beautiful piggies

How lovely. I rather like the look of the beautiful Carwyn. What a wonderful group they make. Lots of friends, a great cure for nervous piggies x

Carwyn has spent the first three years of his life in a 1 ft square bare breeder box... I adopted him from North East Guinea Pig Rescue 1 1/2 years ago. He is gorgeous and has extra charm from his mutilated lip.

Briallen and Heini are from The Potteries Guinea Pig Rescue; Briallen is a traumatised single ex-toddler's pet that still has got problems with being handled although I am making very slow progress. But she is more relaxed around other piggies now. Heini is a rescue born baby; she was only 6 weeks old when she came here with Briallen.
Neither Briallen nor Carwyn are good with same-sized piggies that do not accept their dominance straight away. Hence my long search for suitable youngsters!

So happy to read that the new additions are settling in well - they are a very eye catching pair.
And I can only imagine how thrilled with himself Carwyn must be right now - Eddi is in awe of his wife tribe.

I love a happy ending.
The girls are beautiful. I hope that things continue to go well. Lucky Carwyn x

Bracknell babies? I'm confused as you say southeast England

Already welcomed them through FB but a happy occasion like this one deserves as many welcomes as possible, right?!

Such a sad story they had to be involved in, but now they are in the best care with you. I'm also really happy that the bonding went so well! They were meant to be

The rescue was from a breeder in Bracknell, but with well over 100 pregnant sows and over 300 piggies (with the boars and the babies included), this was way too much for one rescue to cope with, so the piggies have been taken on by other rescues with free places. That is why I have described it as a multi-rescue operation and why my girls have come from a different part of the country. Not the first time... ;)

I have to say Hapus, thats a very regal pose you have there missy.

Carwyn is living the piggie dream with his harem of lovely ladies!

Such idiots, I don't know any breeders in Bracknell that doesn't mean that, they aren't around. That's a lot of piggies, I hope they all find good homes

Most of the surviving ones thankfully have. Sadly, bad backyard breeders and uncontrolled breeding from neglectful owners can - and does - happen anywhere. :(
