Last Sunday we adopted Harold who will hopefully become a good fuzzy companion to Bruno who lost his best friend at the end of September. Harold is very very shy and not used to people at all at the moment. So we are wanting him to meet Bruno quite soon for moral support.
I have taken loosing Ted very hard and I had previously posted about having ring worm! I do not have it(thank god :yahoo:) but they were sores from being stressed. I wanted to be excited to welcome a new guy to the family but don't really feel much at the moment about it but I'm sure we will all get used to each other and grow a strong bond. And that's enough negativity here's a cute pic of Harold! My partner was trying to temp him to have a wander

Hi there and welcome to Harold...hes gorgeous. I'm sure he'll become more brave soon. So glad you don't have ring worm.. .some staff at the nursery where i work have had it & it's very sore. It is very stressful losing a piggie and I think about Pedro every day ( he died in May) so give yourself time. Take care & give Harold a snuggle from me x

He's a very handsome boy!

I understand what you are feeling right now. I've been there. It's a different sort of love you will develop for Harold. it's slow and gentle and it will creep up on you. It might take weeks, or even months. But it will come. You're still grieving, it's natural to not feel that rush of excitement and affection you might have previously. Be kind to yourself and don't feel guilty. It will come in time and probably surprise you.

Harold is a very handsom boy. I've got everything crossed for a happy bonding.
So glad you haven't got ringworm, that sounds a really horrible thing to have.
The way you are feeling is natural, it will pass. Harold will worm his way into your heart when you are not looking.

Welcome to the very handsome Harold. I hope the bonding goes well.
You are describing feelings that are entirely natural. You are still grieving the loss of one very beloved piggy and finding it hard to warm immediately to the new one. Many of us identify with that completely. Harold isn’t a replacement. But you’ve done the right thing by Bruno and it shows how much you care for him that you’ve adopted a companion for him without feeling totally ready yourself.
I’m looking forward to seeing more photos as he settles

Hellooooo Harold what a very handsome chap you are! I'm sure given time your new slave will come to love you very much. You are so gorgeous I might have to get my piggy napping torch and coat out tonight!:bal: Lancashire isn't that far from Southampton .....:dri::raz:

Thank you guys for the understanding, I feel guilty for everything at the moment. Every day Harold grows a little more confident I've just let him explore while I cleaned him out. He stays close to Bruno's cage which is a good sign I hope! There are a lot of fire works close by tonight, they are not helping :flag:

Hope Harold is getting on well. I've got hamsters, piggies & dogs so they are a pain, Hubby used to be a pyrotechnic so he was the only one not worrying about them. I Remember the first year we had dogs we had to construct tents round the living room so they could hide. We had 9 nervy greyhounds.
