Went and got iggy today from the rescue. Checked him over again and he seems ok, but going to treat him for mites just in case and have a vet check him over.

He's really really scared at the moment, took him ages to come out the pet carrier into his new home. He's now sat in his little house just his nose poking out.

He'll get tamer with love right?

Yes, just give him time to get his bearings and settle in. That can take a few days to weeks and months depending on how traumatised and how much used to humans it is. But patience and persistence are always worth it - there is no satisfaction than when your freaked out rescue piggy is finally discovering that life is to enjoy and not endure!

Here is a collection of tips:

just leaving him to settle in at moment but know he is popping out occasionally as he has eaten some of the carrot tops I put in.

Rescue didn't even want my name or address.

I'm so glad you got him, I hope he settles soon.

Well iggy looks a bit brighter this morning. He's eaten some veg and hay although not much dried food. He was out and about this morning when I went in and although he edged closer to his house he didn't go in. I even put my hand in with some fresh hay and water and he didn't scitter off. Have to confess gave him a little brush. Goodness he's cute. Am already very attached to his little piggy self.

He'll settle down as he gets used to you! Keep up the good work! :))
