Yesterday l was asked by a local pig keeper to have a look at one of his pigs teeth!
When I got rouund to his house I was shocked at the state his pigs teeth were in! I strongly recommend that he get the poor piggy to the vets asap!
He took the pig to the vets this morning! Sadly the teeth were in that much of a state that the vet had to put the little Boar to sleep!

I am going round to see him again tomorrow ! But l thought under the circumstances I would ask him is l could examin the rest of his pigs, to see if any of the others were in need of vet care!
Things I am looking at are

Sad looking withdrawn, hunched apenance!
Teeth, visual on the incisors and a look at the molars by waching them eating!
Eyes, crusty, watery, cloudy , Ect
Nails /toes, for overgrowing and or inflation, infection!
Lymph nodes, neck and under legs for any swelling!
Walking! For any unusual gait!
Examining the poos for any thing out of the ordinary !

Can anyone think of anything else l should be looking for!

N B this keeper is not what l would call a bad keeper, buys all the best food veg and hays ! And he has many free ranging in different rooms throughout the house

I am very sorry for the poor boy! :(

Boar bits/impaction, signs of hair loss (fungal, mites, ovarian cysts).

Can you give the guy these guides here; they are good a check list:

Oh no, poor piggy. Hopefully it was just the one piggie and the others will be ok.
