Baby Ellie is nearly 5 weeks old. She's grown loads and I was pretty sure she was now too big to get through the C&C grid gaps.. I even held her in front of the grids, let her try to get through the gaps and there was no way she was going to fit.

I decided to remove the mesh I had put up and lower the correx around the front of the cages. They look great. Very happy.

This evening I went to feed all the girls their pellets. I was met with the usual chorus of squeaks and as I placed 2 bowls into Eileen and Edna's cage, who should also come running over? ELLIE! She was in their cage!

Firstly, thank goodness Edna and Eileen hadn't decided to have a go at her. Secondly, I am so glad that she escaped into their cage and not out one of the other sides, falling to the floor.

As I tried to catch her she ran straight back into her's and Eva's cage and ran straight through one of the grid squares like it wasn't even there!

Her and Eva are now back in the commercial cage until Ellie gets too big to pull another escape attempt.

Here is the little explorer.

Hehe what a sweetie pie. Will you bond then all together?

Can't because Edna and Eva keep coming to blows. Tried them 3 times now and each time they have a proper fight. Real shame as the others will all happily mix, just not those 2 even though they did live together happily before Eva's pregnancy :( Absolutely gutted.

Well your little Ellie is a proper naught naught girl girl isn't she? The little Madam! Fancy doing that and scaring you so!

What's the problem? Just let me go between the two cages and be friends with everyone baby Ellie says :))

In all seriousness, what a little madam. She's so cute and like butter wouldn't melt. <3 Seems you have a handful with this little one. :))

hehehe! smart Baby Ellie! and how cute she is!
it happened something similar to me, with the only difference that my ex-underweight and slim Calipso was able to pass through the holes of the fence I use for closing the passage to the side of the kitchen where the fridge and the sink are. Calipso disappeared, did not reply at my calls and at the noise of the bags... after long hours we heard a bad suspicious noise under the sink where there are the cables of the dishwasher. We had to move the furniture, squeezing under the sink and catch her out... totally covered of dust and dirt!
(anyway I was able to find a knife which had been missing for long time...)

hahah oh bless her, cheeky little fluffball! Hopefully she grows a bit and can't do her Houdini act anymore!

Oh she is certainly trouble. Now she's in the normal cage, her new trick is to climb the bars to the top of the cage and jump in the hay bag! Never seen a guinea pig climb the bars before, like a rat or hamster :hb:
