I think Comet and Blitzen have a new home. There's a photo on Cavy Corner's Facebook page about meeting a new family and the photo looks very like Blitzen from the angle it's taken at. I can't be certain, I can't see his nose in the picture (his ginger nose is very obvious).

I'm glad they've got a new home, but part of me is still lost about the whole thing. It still doesn't feel fair.

On an unrelated note, my living room is a bit full.

Aw it’s so sad and I’m kind of angry they won’t let you take them with you :( but Sue will make sure they go to a first class home :) you could always ask Sue if it is Blitzen in the photo. I’m sure she would tell you.

All the best with the move and see you tomorrow x

tbh I don't want to ring up and ask because I'm not sure I could handle that conversation like the adult I'm supposed to be :coat: really if it is, I only want to say that they should try letting them have some thyme occasionally because they love it but it's not a "typical" herb that gets fed like parsley or coriander.

It is sad. I have enjoyed reading your posts about Comet and Blitzen. It is good they are being rehomed from a rescue you can trust though.

So sorry @Lorcan - remember that this is as much a bereavement for you as if they had gone over the Rainbow Bridge.
You need to allow yourself to grieve for Blitzen and Comet and if that means posting a tribute to them on the forum then do do.
Hope all is progressing well otherwise - I feel for you. Moving house can be a real headache

Thank you. They really were a right pair of hallions, but they got along so well. Apparently they've really been behaving themselves at the rescue, either they've grown up (hah) or they're just waiting for their moment...I vote the latter, tbh.

I was supposed to move on Tuesday...then I got a really apologetic phonecall at the beginning of the week asking if we could do it on Monday instead. I've lost a whole day I was going to use for packing. Help.

I may do later. I want to get the move over and done with and be as clear headed about everything as possible. I wouldn't trust myself to do a decent tribute otherwise.

Sue's just confirmed it with me, they have a lovely new home

Quite honestly I really admire you - I can not even begin to imagine how hard this has all been, and some days it really just isn't fair.
But you put the needs of your wonderful boys first and you know they will be well taken care of with he back up of a fantastic rescue.
Still a tough thing to have to go through - sorry.

Please don't get me wrong, I'm having an absolute meltdown about the whole thing. But I know I needed to move, my neighbour was going to send me to an early grave. I saw my GP yesterday and she can't believe the difference in me in six weeks, my scalp psoriasis has cleared up entirely. I couldn't have done that if I stayed.

And I'm actually moving, which in itself is a great distraction. Too much else to focus on, no time for retrospect. It's gotta be done. When it's all over and I can finally allow myself to breathe, I might be a little less okay with the whole thing. But I don't know, y'know?

Plus, Sue at Cavy Corner made the whole situation a thousand times easier. It sounds like I'm exaggerating, but I'm really not. She took the boys in when I wasn't able to look after them with being in hospital and let them stay a while longer til I found out I couldn't get them back and had no problem with rehoming them for me. It took so much of the stress away.

Sending you hugs. You have done the right thing for you and the piggys. I was in a similar situation in 2009 and had to rehome my animals. A very hard decision but your health has to come first or you can't look after them well anyway. Comet and Blitzen will have gone to a lovely home and you can put the stress of that neighbour behind you. If when you recover from the distraction of the move you find you need to talk we will still be here for you.

Feel free to sound off or chat or pm me. You’re going through a lot & you’re doing heaps better than I would in your shoes. Its good to know your piggies are ok. But you need to be ok too x
Hugs & stuff I’m sending your way x

Huge hugs. Others have mentioned the blue cross pet bereavement helpline before and this could be something to help you. I know they haven't passed but you have still suffered a great loss

Hope your move goes well. I think you are a brave and caring owner. I know I would find it difficult to rehome my piggies. It's good to know they have a nice new home. Maybe the new owners would send you updates.
Sending you hugs.xx

I’ve nothing to say that hasn’t already been said better by others @Lorcan . Just stay positive, look forward and take care of yourself. Hugs xx

I’m sorry you couldn’t take the boys with you :( good luck with the move, try to stay positive and take care of yourself. At least you know they are with people who will take care of them, I know this doesn’t make it any easier though.

Looking good and all the best for Monday.

Thank you again for the hay and other bits. Ellen and Edward think it’s Christmas and are already enjoying the hay :)

Well it's like I said, I can't use it anymore and somebody (and some pigs!) might as well get some use out of it
