I heard that if both boars reach 15 months of age and are still living together it is very unlikely they will ever fall out?

I am still seeing some mild dominance behaviour from PB and H just behaves like PB is a naughty child to be tolerated and shrugged off.

Yes and no. Although the adolescent years generally tend to finish around the 15 month mark, dominance displays and issues can always arise, even after that. Living together can always create tension in any animal so there is always the chance of a "misunderstanding". The likelihood of this being unresolvable by the two is very much diminished after adolescence.

What I'm saying is that you may still see displays of dominance from either piggy at any stage during their life but the chances are it won't lead to violence (it may still do however). I think this is true of any pair though and not just boar/boar pairs. Sometimes they just fall out for a bit. The trick is to have enough space and two of everything so that, if they do get stropy with each other, they can go off into their corners and cool off.

Oh dear! Well, I will just keep on going as we have. They have always had 2 of everything, and I do mean everything. At the moment they are in a 2 story hutch (indoors) with the bottom level being 120 x 90 and the top 120 x 45 (I took out the bedroom divider and now they popcorn up there too).

I have bought the makings of a C & C cage which would give them a bottom area of 150 x 110 and top same. I keep buying so much stuff and with 2 of everything it doesn't all fit in their current cage so want to give them a bigger one. However, how likely are they to have a falling out over new quarters and should I wait until the youngest has reached 15 months before I do it?

I don't know to be honest. It totally depends on the individual pig in question and theor personality - I'm sorry it's not so helpful. All you can do is ensure they continue to have two of everything and plenty of cool off room

Anything could set them off so moving could do it but then, they could just have a fall out just like that so I think you could move them whenever you want
