Hi All

Anyone know were I can buy larger quantities of Ivomec and Panacur/Valbasen.

Preferebly on-line.

Thanks

Paul & Jeanette

I just bought 50ml of ivomec from medicanimal it was £26.

Then some dropper bottles to give 2 drops orally to each of mine

Lauraccc4 advised me and she buys big quantities of panacur too.

Thanks for the replies

Is it straight forward ordering from these people

They don't ask you to prove you are a Vet or something do they.

Paul & Jeanette

I just had a look and when you order they ask what type of animal is it for and a few other questions

Should I be telling porkies and say its for a Cow for the Ivomec and for a Dog for the Panacur or is it ok to say Guinea Pig for both.

Paul & Jeanette

I think you need to tell porkies... but not sure, as I don't believe it is licensed as suitable for piggies, but too be fair I don't know, I'm just guessing I don't personally use either but lots of people do!

Are they licensed for human use?

Whilst it is cheaper per ml to buy a big bottle you need to work out how much in what time span you will use in treating pigs. Ivomec can work out expensive if you have to throw most of it away because it has not been used by the expiry date.

I couldn't tell you AP, but I do know that it is used to treat piggies, I don't use either cause I wouldn't trust myself I don't have the knowledge and wouldn't want to endanger my pigs that is the reason I don't use it, I would trust someone trained to use it or someone that knows what they are doing! I'm over cautious, What can I say!

There can only be one answer to your question.
"Not a lot".

Thanks for the Links Lauraccc4

Order placed for my Cow named dolly :x

Paul & Jeanette

Yep, I ordered for Charlotte the sheep..... :))

Not being able to buy the same product in smaller quantities is bothersome but it's a lot cheaper than going down the Xeno route every three months!

Yes I did. I registered my cat and dog as I bought wormers and frontline for them and flopsy for the ivomec?

Maybe it's okay to buy for them?

I first tried ordering from Bestpet Pharmacy and put down that it was for a Guinea Pig and they asked for a prescription as its not registered for use on Guinea Pigs, my next attempt was with MedicAnimal and I put it down as for a Cow.

My order from MedicAnimal arrived this morning.

Just read the instructions and although on the box it is listed as having a 14 month Exp date in the instructions it says dispose of after 28 days of first use

So 250ml given at 2 drops, I wonder how many Piggies I would need to make it financialy viable. @)

I did notice that they list a super version that is about the same price for 50ml.

Perhaps I should start decanting it and giving it to forum members for the cost of postage plus dropper bottle.

Paul & Jeanette

Is it the Ivomec you're talking about? The Ivomec Super is to be disposed of 6 months after opening, not sure which one has to be chucked after 28 days.

The idea of giving some to other forum members makes the most sense, one that has occurred to me many time, but it can't be done (advertised) publicly given that strictly speaking it is POMs we are dealing with. Even though both Ivomec and Panacur are available on the net without prescription! Tricky situation.
