My piggy Inky constantly has a wet bottom... I clean him with baby wipes and damp cloths but how should I prevent it? The two of them make sure the cage needs cleaning every 3 days!

Also, if this matters, their urine is a light orange although I think they are well hydrated

It may be his grease glands . I'm not to clued up on this I've just seen it in other freads. I'm shore someone will be along soon x

Can be a sign of a urine infection. They dribble pee alot.

Certainly sounds like there's a health issue going on, a trip to the vet would be a good idea. Wet bottoms can be indicative of a few things, UTI, kidney problems (is he drinking more than normal?) Mobility issues etc. So pinpointing which it is will need the help of a vet. I hope he's feeling better soon!

A healthy guinea pig should not really have a wet bottom. A trip to the vets is advisable to find out the cause as @Eriathwen has said. There are many potential causes. Please let us know how you get on at the vets.

As we have members from all over the world, we find it very helpful if you please added your country and county, so we can adapt any advice accordingly. Please click on your username on the top bar, then go to personal details and scroll down to location. Thank you!

If in any doubt, please have him vet checked for urinary tract infection (UTI) or cystitis.

Some piggies have a coat that acts like a sponge and gets very messy, if that is the case, please cut any hairs at the bum and around the legs short and give regular gentle bum bath with baby warm water. Short-haired guinea pigs however should be able to keep themselves clean.
Boar Care: Bits, Bums & Baths

Cages should be cleaned twice a week anyway.

Don't worry we have changed the bedding to blankets/towels from newspaper and he is MUCH better 😜! We wiped him down one last time to get rid of the smell but he seems a lot drier

Welcome to the forum
I agree with what has been said about a vet trip.
If nothing else it will give you peace of mind
