We clean out our cage every day and make sure there is no pee or poo in the cage.

Our long haired piggie who is about 11 months the last two days we have picked her up seems to have a wet bum. Not soaking wet but damp. We can’t smell urine but guessing it is just pee. Just strange that in the 4 months we have had her she never had a wet bum.

We are going to give her a bum bath and trim the hair underneath. We have given her a trim but never underneath. Should we get her checked out by a vet?

She seems totally fine and is eating like normal

Ok now we are wondering if it is an active grease spot. As seems to be on her back

It probably is just per and a bum bath will help.
My long haired girl sometimes is damper than others and had a bum bath yesterday.

However- if you are concerned then go the the vet. That is always a good plan. My vet told me ages ago that they would rather see a healthy piggy and reassure the owner than someone who doesn’t bother until it’s too late.

Thank you. Going keep an extra close eye on her and give her a bum bath this evening. If we are worried in anyway will get her to the vet.

Give her a bum bath and a trim and see how she goes. If you notice the urine starts to smell more or if starts getting worse then definitely go to the vets as she could have a UTI. My long haired male also has an 'outey' following his neutering. I use a flannel and some diluted hibiscrub once a week to clean his bum and penis and the surrounding area as he is more prone to picking up infections
