Not entirely sure how it happened but a quick convo with the son of my parents neighbour resulted in us having a 3rd guinea pig! He'd bought the pig the week before as a friend for his 4 year old boar and then his wife was involved in an accident and he didn't think he could look after the pig properly. His wife is very sick and it doesn't look as if she'll be out of hospital anytime this month.
So, later that evening we bought Eggnog home. He's a gorgeous little thing, a baby who's half the size of the other two beasties and has a very ,very sweet nature.
So far the boys are all getting on well - obviously I'm prepared for it to all go wrong and have a second cage set up in case the boys do fight and they're not left alone together or caged together overnight. They spend their entire day in their run in the lounge or loose on the floor ("pig on the floor" has become a very common phrase in our house!) and apart from a bit of posturing and rumbling they've been fine. No idea how long it'll last but for now it's going well.
