Thought we'd get piggies out for cuddles.....

Cue finding a problem - Vimto (ex-vampire piggie) had a look of dandruff low on her back a check revealed several areas... Checked over Sarsaparilla to and her lower back is covered, hard to see normally with her as she is a Rex. Luckily Cookie is clear (touchwood) and Baby Widget just has a tiny scab... Widget had fungal when we fostered her but we thought we'd got it all before we bonded her in with the girls... a little must have survived.

Just Nizarol bathed Vimto and Sassy... Vimto is now back to being a vampire pig she has savaged me and drew blood a few times :( Feel like all the hard work of trust has been lost with her, she is in a major sulk, took so long becasue she is a peru/aby cross. Sassy however was a dream to bath. Their skin is looking much better, no sign of scabs so praying have caught any fungal early, bathing Cookie tomorrow as precaution and will bath baby for the hell of it to... The joys of sunday night eh?

Oh blimey, know how that feels as we have spent the last few weeks bathing every single pig and dipping them too in Imaverol. Hope it clears up soon but shout if you need any info.

Thanks Helen, ordering so Imaverol in to have to hand, thinking due to lack of scabs we have caught it early. Blaming baby lol. Bathing is a nightmare, I don't understand why show people willingly do it, our girls really hate it :(

Good plan, does sound like you have caught it early. I know, we had some good as gold, others not so much and Barney decided he would stand on the girls so he didn't get wet. Then there is Tim and Fuzzy who can both almost leap out the bath Nigel style.

This will cheer you up :)

:)) Thanks for that dude :) It's just like being at a Spa!

For those that are wondering... Rach and I went to a spa yesterday, our bedroom was over the function room were they had a Elvis impersonator on till the early hours so I was lying in bed listening to awful renditions of the King as I drifted off to sleep... At one point he was covering Neil Diamond in an Elvis stylee :)

There is soooo much hair with Fuzzy!

Sorry to hear about Ellie, good luck tomorrow. Will be thinking of her x

Thank you, she is bright in herself which is good, part of me thinks she would not be so bright if it was Pyometra so fingers crossed it's not.

Yep Fuzzy is all hair bless her. She shrinks like anything in the bath.

They are poorly with Pyometra aren't they as a rule. Lets hope for good news. x

know what you mean about building up trust then having to do something they dont like. Had one of mine coming up to me and putting legs on mine for veggies but had to nail clip so after catching her more or less back at square 1

What a bad idea for the spa to let that go on!

Do not worry about Vimto not trusting you as she will. I know how you feel as when mine had mites shereen was terrified of her bath and I thought our trust would be broken too.

I'm sorry about this :(

I am sure that Vimto will come round again once she has calmed down and realised you only bathed her to make her feel better.

Emma now hates being picked up and she even nipped me when I was trying to catch her for her meds on Saturday.

Wishing you all the best; I know how you feel!

Papi, my most skittish little girl, is currently putting me through the wringer in the ringworm stakes with suicidal stunts and hunger strikes! No more imaverol dips for her after a split lip (thankfully, nothing worse) and Heulwen for company for the second issue (who promptly started giving Papi big licks on her fungal patch and had to go on itrafungol, too). I had to opt for itrafungol and topical canesten cream instead. And no idea where she's picked it up; I haven't had any ringworm in over 18 months...

Thankfully, we are finally coming to the end of the acute phase and - by tomorrow - also to the end of the incubation period with so far no more casualties. Touch wood - but only the already disinfected one, please! :mal:

Oh that sounds a nightmare Wiebke, typical boy making this worse by licking it. Hope it all clears up soon.

Papi and Heulwen are both bottom Tribe girls, but my hair loss over the last couple of weeks has definitely not been fungal! Papi is the worst piggy of mine to come down with it...
