On Tuesday we took on two new piggies two (females) to join our two girls. All was going well untill on Thursday I went to feed them and found one of the new piggies had given birth to two babies!
As soon as I found them we seperated the babies and mother from her cage mate who is clearly a male. Fortunately he has not been in with the two girls we already had.
I have looked at the babies and am sure we one is male and will be able to live with Dad and the other is a female and will stay with her mother. I will get some photos so people on here can confirm this though.

The babies are both doing well and the humans getting used to life with six piggies.

What a shock! They are both stunning x) Hope Mom and babies continue to do well

The babies look in fab condition and just adorable! Do have a good read of the pregnancy sticky thread at the top of the preg section, it covers babies as well as pregnancies. Unfortunately there is a good chance that poor mum is pregnant again already so your numbers may increase yet again.

If you need any help or advice please feel free to give me a ring at the rescue.

Oh no! That would be confusing. I'm glad everything's sorted out now. You have really cute piggies!

The babies were still wet when we found them and we got mum out straight away in fact she delivered the last placenta after we took her out, I must have just missed them being born by seconds.

Have to show a photo of the placenta as I found it really interesting.

In that case it sounds as though mum will be just fine and no more little ones on the way. :)

What a surprise that must have been! Good you got there just in time to prevent a back-to-back pregnancy. Mum is gorgeous and the bubbies are adorable. I do hope the sexes are right so that daddy can have company and there isn't an odd boy out.

If they are both girls I will have to consider neutering the daddy. Any thoughts on neutering and any recommendations on Vets in south Wales that have carried out this operation with positive results.

absolutely gorgeousx) but what a shock it must have been for you. hopefully they are male and female so that you can get them into pairs but if they are both sows so long as you can get a decent vet to neuter dad it would make a lovely family group for you. i've had 3 neutered and everyone was very straight forward.

Oh dear, what a shock! There are lots of people on here who know a ton about pregnancy/babies etc so please ask any questions you may have! The babies are very sweet!

Awwwwwww just lovely, best wishes for mummy and little ones sounds like they've found the perfect forever home :) x)
