Went to see Kim on Saturday for Clover's dental - she lost 4 teeth at the appointment that were hanging on like threads including both bottom front teeth, leaving her with only one proper tooth on the right side of her mouth! Sunday I realised her abscess had come back along her right-side jaw for the third time - could not believe the bad luck :mal: but thought I might have been going out of my mind so decided to see how it was on Monday.

Decided on Monday night I'd ring for another appt on Tuesday morning - woke up this morning to an absolutely awful smell from where the piggies are kept and the abscess had burst! All cleaned up, antibiotics and pain relief - Kim is happy to not see Clover unless she deteriorates in herself.

Does anyone have any good veggies/foods for piggies that can't really pick up food easily? She's currently having mushed pellets, grass she can manage and a bit of basil and is maintaining her weight perfectly but just feel like she might be getting a bit bored? You can see one tooth is starting to come back already at the front so just a case of waiting for both of them to come back. Lil munchkin always keeps me on my toes x

We cut all leafy veg into thin strips, grate carrot, but sometimes they manage spiralised carrot better. Porridge oats are usually enjoyed too.

These abscesses are an absolute nightmare. It sounds like you've done a good job with cleaning it. In fact I am more than happy to hand over my 'Abscess Queen' crown to you! :yahoo:

I’ve been trying spiralised carrot actually so thats good! I’ll start cutting all her leaves into strips, we’re having to hold Gordon back as he’s such a chunky monkey he just steals all her food!

Haha thank you! They’re a nightmare and the stench honestly is undescribable - I thought the dog had done a poo on the floor when I went in yesterday

Burst abscess pus has to be one of the worst smells ever:vom: Not the thing you want greeting you first thing in the morning!

Have you tried puréed veg as you would for a baby?
That can be lapped up or syringe fed.
Hope she feels better soon
