hi, i was just wondering cause all we can give our pigs is spinach, we have onion leafs, carrot leafs(they can eat that), spinach(and that), corget leaves, and peper leafs, but the one i am most confused on is can they eat onion leaves oyr whatever they are!
thanks for all the help!:)

i don't have an allotment, but I grow a lot of veg. I give my pigs - peas in pods, summer broccoli, little gem lettuce, mixed leaves, strawberries, fennel, parsley, carrots. I don't grow onions, so I don't know about the leaves, but I'm not sure guineas would like them anyway?

hi, no i didn't think so ether, thanks for the infomation, we do have an alotment in our garden, is that what you ment, sorry i'm still sick!:)>>> but don't worry i don't think it's swine flou!:))

ah, I thought you meant an allotment, like Arthur in Eastenders (showing my age). You know a council plot divided up for lots of folk.
I'd just call it a veg patch if it was in my garden, although I don't know the size of your garden!

Guineas need a balanced diet with correct calcium : phosperous ratio. CCC4 did a really good thread a while back, you should find it under the food section on here.

hi all, didn't think onions were good but best to check! you neer know!, thanks for the post rosie2009 i don't mind that you got it wrong i do it alot!

Hi again, it's always good to hear good questions from our junior board members! Again there are lots of posts about food on here and it can sometimes be hard to find So I tend to look at 2 of the best food for piggy companies there are! Have a look at these 2 sites!

this is a handy guide to poisonous foods

is this true if you cut tops of carrots while growing they stop growing . looking after parents garden while on hols i saw these lovely green tops on carrots growing and snipped them off . for piggies text my dad told me to leave alone will kill them told him to late and done me a favoue on less veg to water for him lol :(|):(|):(|)

my two love beetroot tops! chard, french beans, lettuce, kale and cabbage..from our allotment great to have so much choice for them carrots soon hopefully too. never tried strawberries though.:))

That's handy to know my Dad lives locally to our new home and has an allotment where he grows beans, carrots, etc., guess I may be doing some sneaky trips then once we have some piggies! :))

If you wanted to grow things for your guineas check out this site:

They also have a great scheme called rate watchers which has proved a big hit with the piggies here and has been especially good with fanny Adams problems :)
