My boar was neutered in Dec, 12 weeks later he was put back in with my sow (who has had 2 back-to-back pregnancies). Today she is looking slightly rounded around her tummy, i have felt her tummy and cant feel any movements or anything but didnt with her 1st pregnancy of 2 babies.

19th March my sow was looking quite thin but put it down to her spending most of her life pregnant and looking huge her weight was 647g

5th April she weighed 749g = weight gain of 102g in 17 days.

11th April she weighs 802g = weight gain of 53g in 6 days

The baby boys from the last litter were removed at 3 weeks old, what are the chances?

It's not impossible as Claire (Martha&Maud) will tell you but it is rare.

Her weight gain spurt *could* be because she's gaining all the nutrition for herself & not feeding babies :)

Maybe the vet didn't remove the right 'parts' or only removed a certain thing. How much did you pay for the neutering? I would just be careful. Maybe separate the pair as you never know, she might not be pregnant, but he might not be neutered properly, so there could still be a chance of her getting pregnant if so. Has she been in heat recently?

^ can that actually happen =S
my vet told me that they only make one cut, technically a simple operation so i don't know how they could miss it! unless they're really bad vets lol.

I expect shes just gaining up to a healthy weight after being drained by feeding babies for so long (if that makes sense?)

If the babies were removed at 3 weeks and the boar was introduced 12 weeks after neutered, then I would say it would be extremely unlikely that the sow was pregnant. Obviously we are relying on the vet conducting the neutering properly and that she has not been left with any other boars.

I would guess that she is just putting on good body weight after having her babies with lots of good nutrition coming her way! :)

I doubt that she is pregnant. I have a couple of Sows that LOOK pregnant but know for sure thier not up the duff. My Blossom came to me pregnant she must of had litter after litter she been here a couple of years now and still looks like pregnant at times. Both my boars have been done try not to worry I am sure your boar is safe now to be with a female. I put mine in with Sows three/four weeks post op.

I agree with PP, it's highly unlikely she is pregnant. I have some sows that look pregnant too, they are like me big on the hips! :)

As long as babes were taken out in time there shouldn't be a problem. I know its a worry though. :)

Thanks today she weighs 811g so just a 9g weight gain in 3 days :))

You've put my mind at ease although i *thought* i felt movement before but if I'm being 100% honest it could have just been in my mind as previously said i didnt feel movement until the day before she had 2 babies in her first pregnancy but that was only a *thought* too i definatly felt them in her last pregnancy when she had 4!

I paid £50 for him to be neutered. The vet had to make a larger incision as one of his testicles were further up and attached to his stomach or something like that i didnt really understand and was more interested in seeing if he was ok as he was still very drousy.

I'm not sure whether or not she has been in heat recently. Her daughter has and i saw Peter mounting her but thought nothing of it as i read it was still normal, Peter did pull away though and have a look at his manhood as if to say whats going on pmsl
