ive had my pigs for a week now, and when we first had them i never noticed them scratchin like they do now.they scratch there back area with there back legs, and behind there ears too. they also paw there face, which i assume is cleaning(they look quite like a cat) do you think i never noticed before because they were timid and shy? maybe now they are coming out more, and i am watching them i notice more things? or could it be mites or fleas or something? is there a preventative treatment to use before any visable signs show up? oooh I'm full of questions today? gemx:a19::a19:

Here is a link to a medical site for looking up mites, lice or fungus (ringworm) as the most likely source for the itching. Have an eye out for any bald patches developing. http://www.guinealynx.info/index.html

Pawing their face is the equivalent of a piggy wash; they do that regularly.

If in doubt, take your pigs to the vets and get them checked over!
