What are your thoughts on this toy?

I'd use it for hamsters/gerbils/mice, the paint will be non-toxic so it'd be okay for chewing (but perhaps not ideal). Personally, I wouldn't be worried about it being destroyed as that would be half the fun to some small furries. It's something to climb on or hide under and could be used as a ladder of sorts for accessing shelves in a cage. The main downside I can think of is wood tends to absorb urine and is difficult to clean.

That said I am tempted by these kind of things - http://www.equinecaninefeline.com/catalog/mats-play-house-natural-wood-17x17x10cm-p-3656.html?osCsid=vrq76klvg9upitim2s0gq0qsr2

I was more thinking of a (excuse this awful spelling lol) cycolgical point of view..... i wouldn't buy anything painted either myself, but the idea of this toy just freaks me out........ the thought of my hamster "walking over the rainbow bridge" xx

Psychological. ;)

I completely didn't think of that either and to be honest had never come across the concept until I frequented animal forums so I don't think most people would think that. I still wouldn't be bothered by it, I'd just hope the hammy would find a pot of gold. :))

(Edit: I read that back and realised it could come across as rather callous, it wasn't meant in that way at all.)
