Hi,

I know there are threads on this already but, after reading them, I am confused :(

At the mo, I am keeping my outdoor (shed) and indoor piggies on news paper and hay but I would like to try a more absorbant/insulating bedding, especially for the outdoor ones and also my bunnies who are outside.

What would you recommend?

Megazorb. Love it love it. www.megazorb.co.uk. A nice layer of that with hay on top.

You could also use fleece blankets but they are higher maintenence as obviously you have to keep sweeping and washing them.

Thanks :) I was leaning towards Megazorb :)

I do have small fleece pieces they can lay on...some love it and some just pee all over it and after one day it is soaked again! It's a good job I love 'them! ;)

Megazorb is great. I'm using hay and newspaper for cages at the mo. I find it best for my boys who are very clean and love to hide up in it now the temp is dropping a little. I use megazorb for indoor foster pigs. :)

I've just discovered NOT to use shredded newspaper as Guinea Pigs can get a taste for it, which can cause health problems.

I use newspaper and hay at the mo and I can hear gentle rips on the paper! No matter how much hay I use they still find the paper! :))

Oh you're new welcome to the forum Andrew. :)

I use Shredded Paper mixed in with woodshaving and also newspaper to line the bottom of my hutches.
Never had any problems

i used newpaper, woodshavings and hay in my hutches. I now use profleece or just fleecing - underneath this i line my cage with newspaper. I find it alot better than woodshavings! I still use hay areas too and here i just line with newpaper and carefresh!

hi

i use premierbed (cardboard pieces -its very absorbant) for outside piggies with hay on top but it doesnt work for my inside piggies. I want to try ecopetbed for my indoor pigs has anyone use this before? 8:)
