What brand of guinea pig food do you use? At the moment I use oxbow cavy cuisine but I want to get ideas of some of the other good guinea pig foods.
We use Asda nuggets too and they seem to prefer them over other brands. I read somewhere that 0.4 calcium content is about right and Asda have 0.8. Is this a problem?
I use selective (get 3 for 2 when p@h have offer on) but also intersperse with Harringtons (from asda is cheapest) and excel with blackcurrant (have to order from local pet shop or p@h, they don't like the mint ... Fussy piggies!)What brand of guinea pig food do you use? At the moment I use oxbow cavy cuisine but I want to get ideas of some of the other good guinea pig foods.
What is the advantage of Bunny? We are using Bunny, from zoo plus, with a mixture of burgess as they are changing over to bunny fully.
Bunny and vitacraft, are both good choices. What is the advantage of Bunny?
Thank you.Bunny and vitacraft, are both good choices.
They are proven to reduce the risk of bladder sludge, and cystitis, also I have seen less calcium deposits in the cage.

Changing over too quickly can make the pigs ill. Especially if they aren't fully dependant on the new ones yet.I use vitakraft from zooplus. I was going to try bunny but to be honest a lot of people said that they're guinea pigs didnt like it, so went for vitakraft. Amber likes them, and its better than what she was on (mix of pets at home pellets and whag muesli). I only changed her over because of the calcium deposits. Otherwise that I probably wouldn't have, just cut out the muesli as its sugary and can cause selective eating.
Vitakraft smells yummy! I'd eat it if I was a guinea pig! It has red bits of beetroot in it
Your still in the process? I thought you started the change over ages ago.

Calm down calm down.I'm aware of that, I've been a member for long enough to know that.
How long has it been? 3 months maybe? bit extreme. They will probably never be dependant on bunny aslong as your giving them both though? They'll always eat there normal old nuggets, eventually you just have to be brave and stop giving the old ones.
