hi, i'm new to this website so please forgive me! i've just recently got a new guinea pig after my last 1 passed away in my arms from a heart attack at the age of 3+ we think, as we re homed him and he was my 1st piggie!

i have no idea what breed my new piggie is.. rolleyes

i really need to know, as when he is older he will be going to shows with me and my other piggie, they are both pet piggies but i just would like to know what kind of breed he is?

my other boar is an agouti guinea pig, and my last 1 was an abyssinian!

but i'm totally clueless about this one, all i know is that he is very, very, very cuteeeeeee!

i've only ever had 3 boars, he is my 3rd boar and so far is getting on fine with my other boar! if you know what kind of breed he is it would be a great help! :)

thank you.

i have no idea if the pictures have worked or not, sorry :0!

He looks as thought he could be a mix or possibly a tri colour, his fur looks quite fuzzy so could have rex or teddy in maybe? I'm not sure?/

thank you, some one had said he looked like a roan but i have no idea! i'm still getting quite use to guinea pig breeds as i've always had hamsters and dogs lol ! :<>

also i forgot to put in my thread, what age should you start letting him eat grass i forgot to ask my vet yeserday?

i know he is far to young atm and still getting use to being outside, but rougly if any one has an idea..... i've never had a pig this young lol!

He doesn't look like a Rex, his whiskers look straight & his coat isn't fluffy, more long like a sheltie or something?

Does he have a rosette on his back? The fur seems to spike on his neck. Could be an abysinnian x sheltie? Who knows!

hi yes he has a wee bit of a spike on his neck!

i got him from pets at home as i didn't know any one who was looking to re home their guinea pigs, he is quite healthy consdering where he came from, after reading all the horror stories on the net about pets at home!

i did notice that in the litter there was a few abysinnians with him... and i didn't bother asking them what breed he is, cos they didn't even know what his age was, 1 said he was 6 weeks and other said 11 weeks, so they would have no clue about his breed innit! @)

i normally get my pets from our local pet shop as it is a family run business or i try my best to rescue them.. our local pet shop also takes home some pets that don't get sold and keep them as there own, they also rescue animals as well! they recently rescused a boa snake called grumpy who is famous in our town, and a grey african parrot called angus!

they have a very good repuation in the north east of scotland lol. but i had no option but to go to pets at home this time, as they didn't know when they was getting any more guineas in as they don't get them from a set progame from a breeder same with bunnies, it's very rare for them to get either pets in...

Have you been to pig shows before? Personally i could never take my boys soemwhere where they are left in a small wire box for hours and then picked up and molested by someone they dont know. I was horrified. I always thought i would like to do a few pig shows until i actually saw one.

hey, yes we have a very good one in my town! i took twister and tornado last year and twister came 1st in best pet class i was so shocked, cos he was my first piggie and i had no clue how to tame them or anything as i've said before i've always had hamsters and dogs! what a boost that was, i was so happy! he also came 4th this year in last show lol, tornado came 2nd.. can't wait for the the show in oct to take wee thor if he is ready, if not it will just be tornado! and both of them can go next year!! :(|) i always stay with my piggies cos i don't like kids touching them in case they hurt them lol...

I go with a roan abby x - and an extremely cute one too......x)
