What colour should piggy urine be?

Guinea pig urine oxidises when exposed to the air and goes darker. Depending on the food and other factors the colour can range from orange to rusty to brown. It's nothing to worry about.

Beware of pinkish urine - that contains blood!

Just to add to Wiebke's post - pink urine can also be caused by food too. Beetroot, carrot and red peppers tend to be the "serial" offenders.

Urine affected by blood can range from the pinkish colour Wiebke mentioned, to bright red.

what about green as my guinea had a neutering op 13days ago and needed to go in the vets again has he got an abcess which needed to be drained he staying in the vets for 2 days. its still ozing green puss but ,he did a wee when i got home and i was light green, but the vet did say he had an infected penis that caused an abcess in his op site could it be due to this infection ?

Must admit I have not heard of that before; mind you, green pus is not something I have come across myself either. Even with that abscess I would not expect the urine to be green, unless the abscess has somehow got into the bladder. I would seriously question the infected penis theory to be honest; post-op abscesses are most commonly caused by a reaction to the stitches.

Normal again; the creamy, milky colour is the most common colour of urine. :)
