I think the husband did insinuate that the wife would leave him if he didn't manage to get the dog back....thats what he was saying to wales1000. Probably their relationship was having other issues but yeah

Hope the dog is ok and has settled into family life now.

As for the other couple....hope they get some counselling to help with the relationship problem they are having.

i am so glad you stuck with you heart and kept the dog. The minute you decide to give away any animal you have to realise that is it. Hope to see some pictures of the dog soon? x

Sounds like the dog situation just tipped her over the edge. I hope they can work things out and the dog can stay with you. x

Just to clarify: Who actually owned the dog in the first place, the guy or the woman? Sounds to me a bit like, he wanted to get rid, she didnt really, he made her get rid of it, she realises what a mistake it was to listen to him, and now wants the dog back.

Out of interest, what policy do most rescues have? Say you turn in your pet and you realise how stupid a decision this was, do you have a week or so that you can change your mind in? Like with human adoption, that the mother has a certain period in which she can get the child back?

its all with now anyway - bf saw wife and husband yesterday and they both agreed they had to rid of the dog and wife said she had a mad moment geting upset and they made the right choice. Sammy has now settled right in, she is such a lovely dog, i know they had issues with both dogs and she can nip a bit, but I have been telling her off and she is listening already, so I am glad we got her. It just took a bit of patience and with having a few animals I have that, so she is doing just great.

really glad its all worked out and she's settled in well with you and your family. cant wait to see a pic. xx

Ah glad its all worked out. You know it must of been hard for her to let go. I can understand that.

I had to let go of my dog Monty because when I split up with my ex he still had Monty (I had no way of keeping him as was living at home and mum wouldn't have it) I visited Monty often but he was so confused and pining for me when I left so I had to leave him with my ex for his own sake. It was hard but the animal must come first. :smitten:

This woman sounds a bit mad to me, signing a dog over to someone else is a big thing. Even with my hamster i knew i would never give her away (unless i was in a really bad place) even after a few hours of having her, never mind any of my bigger animals! Then to walk out on your husband over not getting your dog back 98) seems a bit childish and pathetic and i don't think she should have the dog at all! Hope it all cools down and you get to keep her x
You dont know she walked out on her husband as to not getting her dog back! Dont make presumptions!
Sorry, i just dont like presumptions. You cant say its pathetic as you dont know the ins-and-outs of the relationship and situation!

I still stick by what i said to be honest, as starla said the husband said the wife would leave him if he didnt get the dog back! thats not a presumption! if someone is so hot headed to walk out on her husband over the dog, or hand it to someone else then want it back 5minutes later, she isnt the ideal owner in my opinion. Glad everything sorted out now wales1000
x

Great news O0 Atleast the lady now realises she did the right thing, hopefully you and your bf wont be put in akward situations now :)
