I was just wondering what we look like to our little piggy friends.

Do they see in colour? does anyone know what their sense of smell is like?

From what I've read their eye sight is relatively poor, however I think their sense of smell along with hearing are far superior to ours

Ive been wondering about whether they see in colour but kept forgetting to put it up! So thanks!:)

Definitely nothing wrong with their hearing - I've even tried to sneakily open the fridge.....but they still hear it and wheek loudly! :))

and...do you know why so many piggies have red eyes,?
Ive noticed alot of them look dark like my 2 boys but they are red! obvioulsy its genetic but their seems to be alot!!

My mum said that they can see the outline of us. But dunno if that's true but yeah my one's hearings are definitely clear :))

Piggers have dichromatic colour vision - this means they have two sets of cells that distinguish colours - blue and green (S and M cones). They don't see reds. Humans have trichromatic colour vision.

That explains why my boys seem to be able to distinguish the chopping board I use to chop veggies from the other chopping boards, then!
The veggie board is green, the fish board is blue, and the meat board is red; and they always get excited and wheek when they see me take out the green one!
