owl

i've noticed our 2 piggies making 'purring' noises - does this mean they're happy? :)

I think it depends on the situation ;) A purring noise is also similar to a rumbling noise which can be a sign of aggression. When do your pigs purr?

well they have spent a lot of today in their bedroom, they are out now (must be because it's quieter as our 2 children are in bed ;) and i have noticed this noise. they are having a runaround. we have only had them since last thurs so it's still all a bit new to me

they do seem to get on,one is definately more confident/dominant, always at the food bowl first etc, and it is him that is making the noise.

also i posted the other day to say when we got them out on sunday i was a bit concerned as he kept mounting the other one, i was worried that one may infact be a she? or maybe he was just showing the other who's boss. oh i don't know now if he's happy or aggressive, it doesn't look as if he's chasing the other one, more like they are just having a scamper about?

owl xx

A purr is more of a contented noise - they are really happy

And a Brrrrrr, like a rumble/shudder when they don't like something :)

I think they are just really happy!

They do have different types of noises, i think you'll figure them out once you've been together for awhile longer.
Duke has his purr for when he's coming up for a feed which is quite loud and more like a brrr but he's not cross. Then there's the purr when i stroke his little head and he just seems to do a soft prrrrrr ahhhhhhhhhhh just love it :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
