Just interested in seeing what dry food people feed and why! I currently have mine on cavy cuisine having found it on the internet somewhere with not so terrible postage rates! They really love it, and I have to say it smells really good, almost like porridge?!
However I have read it may appear to cause stones in piggies, so there's me thinking I was getting the best of the best, and I'm getting it wrong again mallethead

I feed burgess excel nuggets and sometimes the blackcurrant and oregano ones:))

They're on the burgess at the moment, but I do feed P&H and Tesco nuggets too. It all depends on what I can get hold of. I prefer the burgess and so do they, so that was my vote.

I have mine on Pets at home nuggets, because I got them from there and I was worried about changing their food from what they were used to.
Plus they have added vit C therefore it's perfect :)

Mine eat the burgess excel, I tend to mix a 10kg bag of original pellets with a 2kg bag of blackcurrant and oregano pellets.

I feed it because it's good quality, I've seen a good improvement in my piggies coat/skin quality etc. since they changed to it (they were rescues) and I can get it cheap from work!

Oh it smells nice when I pour it into the food bin too :))

I use Burgess Excel, because it was recommended by my vet. The piggies seem to like it, so that's what we stick with.

I tried the Blackcurrant and Oregano and found them very smelly so I didn't buy them any more :)) Do you find this? Maybe it's just my nose :)

I'm the opposite, I bought them as I love the smelldrool but I think that we all smell things differently :)

The piggies love them but I know some don't, I find their coats and condition excellent when fed on Burgess. My new rescue pig had a dull coat when I got him but two weeks of feeding burgess his coat is shiny and thick:))

I'm currently feeding a mix of Wagg Optimum and Excel. They went off the Excel so we got them P@H then Wagg, now they like the Excel again... Fussy eh? I think we'll stick with Wagg as we can get it easily from the farm shop :)

burgess excel nuggets blackcurrent :)) i love the smell of them drool

I used to use Burgess Excell but I couldn't get any when I ran out this time, so I switched to Science Selective. My boys seem to prefer it...They've eaten twice as much as normal. They can't get enough! It smells very funny, though...But if they like it, who am I to complain? :))

I cannot get mine onto anything other than a museli mix. I have tried Science selective and Burgess and something else that I can't remember. I will keep trying as the only mix they will eat comes from a good (pet free) pet shop near my old house which is now a 40 mile round trip! (Luckily near my mum's so I can visit at the same time). My girls must have the record for the fussiest piggies!

I use science selective guinea, I use it because it has the highest vit c I have found and I get paranoid they wont get enough. I have to say though the change in the rescue piggies is mad, they came to me with dull coats etc and now they have much healthier looking coats.

I have heard the burgess has the same amount of vit c, is that right? If so I may try that as its easier to get ahold of x

My two refuse to eat any brand of nuggets so have changed to Wagg Crunch and they eat the lot!

I used to give my boys the P@H nuggets because the store was round the corner from where I used to live but when I moved it was a bit of a trek to get out there to get them - the local pet food store by me does the Burgess Excel but only in the trial size bags and we were getting through 4 a week...they didn't like it to start off with now they wolf it down like they are gonna make it illegal. Added bonus the vet nurse that lives at the bottom of the road can get big bags at cost so she gets it for me from her practice.

Oxbow and Burgess Excel are the only one available here amongst those listed on, I chose Oxbow as I've a big herd of 10 right now and for a few bucks cheaper, I get to have double the amount of Burgess Excel.

Oxbow isn't a bad pellet either so I went for it. Been feeding my pigs with it since 2005.

running a rescue with 50 pigs in Australia does not leave me many options on feed, basically here we have good quality oxbow which costs us triple to buy compared to other countries or we have extremely low grade food from petshops which is usually full of fatty corn/sun flower seeds and high calcium hay so like many other shelters here i decided to make my own chaff mix

It is based on 2 types of grassy hay with goodies like steam rolled oats, barley and a safe muesli mix added, the piggies love it, i do wish i could feed oxbow but it was costing me over $150aud a week to feed

Have you noticed how the Wagg Optimum has changed in shape?

i have and now one group wont eat eat and the other group love it.

so i feed mine wagg optimum and excel and excel blackcurrant and oregano as a treat :)

I feed Wagg nuggets. I can buy these in bulk and they are reasonably priced.
