Just wondering what you people put in the piggy travel cages when you're taking them to the vet or something?

The last few times I've put hay and newspaper in but I think they're more comfortable on fleece...think tomorrow I will put newspaper, then a blanket and then a bit of hay in there too..do you think that'll be okay? ;)

Sounds fine Jane. I line the bottom of the travel basket with newspaper, add a nice fluffy towel and a handful of hay stuffed in a wc tube!

Ahh thanks think I might put the hay in a toilet roll tube..is easier I think. Just curious then, what does the 'wc' stand for? or doesn't it? just confused I guess cos I've only heard them being abbreviated to tp tubes XD

What carriers do you people use? I'm planning to use the cat carrier because hey, we already have one and it's the right size so why buy a piggy one :D

i put a blanket in with mine and a big bunch of hay, if its windy (i have to walk to the vets) i pull the blanket up and tuck it through the little air holes and put a towel over the front so they dont have a draft..dont worry they have oxygen lol

Thick newspaper and then hay with treats thrown in to keep them occupied. I use the argos medium carrier O0

I use newspaper covered with a towel and then hay on top of that

Whenever I've tried using vetbed, I find my piggy usually ends up underneath it instead of on top 98) :) :)

i use shredded paper with a fleece on top and some hay.I find shredded paper is not as slippy as sheets of newspaper

I use a layer of newspaper with a pile of long shred paper.
I have a cat carrier. However when i got my 3 girls checked out i had to use the dogs carrier, as they are on the large size. :)

Thick layer of newspaper, Vetbed and something to munch (never hay, its too messy ::) ).

it is i always make a mess at the vets with all they hay that my gp's manage to pull out with them.

The 3 times they have been I have just used a few sheets of paper, shredded paper on top and some carrot/cucumber!(their fav. treats!) :smitten: Easy, cheap, and they don't seem to mind. It makes them fairly umm sweet for the vet lol my grumpy lol boys! O0
