What Do You Recommend? Wide Or Narrow Loft

I decided to buy a 2 by 6 c&c after giving up to build a wooden cage. Anyways do you recommend a wide loft or narrow loft? I really like the prices of this. A 16 feet cage with two accessories for less than 200 hundred dollars. Way less expensive than those tiny Kaytee pet stores cages for more space!

I find anything wider than a 1 grid width to difficult to clean under. My loft is 2x1.

We also have a 2 x 1 - I did try a 2 x 2 loft for a while, but getting to the far back corner underneath the loft was very hard on my back!

If you have space, you can overhang a 2x2 loft. This way it's still easy to clean under the loft.

I would go with 2x1 for easy cleaning unless you can try the idea above.

Tip: I always made the loft where the hay was as it encouraged them to use that level and also kept the hay from spreading all over the cage/fleece.
