Hi there,

I hold 4 piggies in a home-made cage. Initially I only had one level. As I thought it is to small I intended to make it bigger. Last weekend I bought all needed stuff in a hardware store. It was hard work but I think it is worth it. Initally the piggies where afraid of going down to the second level but now they get over it.

They do now have 2,25 square meters space.

I am so happy when my piggies are happy ! Some people think I am crazy because I pamper them so much :p.

What a piggy palace! x)x)x)

VERY pampered piggies indeed! I love your use of perspex and my hubby would very much admire the quilit of your woodwork!

That's really good, very impressive! When I attempted to make a guinea hutch it did work, but my boyfriend drilled a hole through my hole in the process.... Right through. With an electric screw driver. I think yours is very cool though, it has reaffirmed my faith in DIY!

Wow that is so cool. Well done to you, bet your piggies love it.
Clever mamapig :)

thats lovely, youve done a brilliant job, i dont suppose you can fit bathrooms too;)

Thank you so much :red

My idea of posting it was to inspire you all. Actually it was very easy. Just go to a hardware store, ask for talor made wooden plates. Then fix the plates with a screwdriver together unto a box. For the front I used plexiglass to make me able of piggy watching :)). The ground should be covered with sheets for pools (or what are the small garden pools for fishes called?) to make it water-tight.

Somethimes it is eaven cheaper than buying a cage.

You'll make it pow-pow

PS: I have seen many people using IKEA IVAR cupboards as a pig home.

I think they are called pond liners ;).

I love your self made piggy home, well done! I have seen lots of similar ones on the German forums, very creative!

It's a great cage! I have sent it to my OH for inspiration as he's currently drawing up plans for a home built cages for my piggies. Thanks!

I think one thing I wouldn't be able to have is that picket fence on the top floor. My 2 are enthusiastic climbers and I think they'd be over that and dropping onto the floor below in no time!

I absolutely love this! I saw it the other day but (for some reason :{ ) never commented. I think it's just amazing. I really mean it. I can't get over how creative and wonderful that is!

I'm tempted to show my brother when he next visits...Might be able to sweet talk him into making something similar for me, as I want an upstairs (But with C&C it ain't working out so grand 8... I can't make it work! )

That is one amazing cage. well done you. Who is the piggy laying down on the right hand side of the second level? They look very much like my Eliza x) (the piggy on the left of my avatar)

I think I may have to show it to my hubby and see if he can make me something similar but with 3 floors, what a great piggie palace. drooldrooldrool
