Hi Everyone

Still searching for my 2 Guinea Pigs. I have been notified that a Dad and Son, very friendly, need

Rehoming.

Don't know age? From rescue. Or 2 Four month old Boys. A pet store. Had my Budgie from there so

okay. I need help and advice coz I can't make my mind up!

This forum is rescue piggy friendly so always get from a rescue if you can. If you get the from a good rescue they will have been health checked and they will have been bonded too to make sure they get on. Which rescue are you thinking of getting them from? Where are you? We have members from all over the world so it helps if you could put on your profile where you are from. Just the general area not your address or anything!

Hi
The Father and Son are from Honeybunnies Leicester Rabbit & Guinea Pig. I live Nuneaton, Warwickshire and cannot find any local Rescues. Its made harder to travel far as I do not drive and have to rely on a lift from someone else.

I would always go for a rescue over a shop bought piggy. There are so many piggies in need and most pet shop piggies are bred in commercial breeding facilities rather than a home environment, which is sad for the breeding sows X
My three are all rescues and are delightful ☺️. I hope you welcome some very cute piggies to your home very soon X X

Honeybunnies are one of our recommended rescues; you are in very safe hands there. I have adopted from them myself. Unfortunately for you, I do not drive.
Why it is worth going good standard rescue: You will be sure that the bond is stable, the boys are healthy and don't come with ringworm like many of the new shop piggies we have seen on here in the last couple of years, and you have the support of the rescue for the lifetime of their adopted piggies.

As to the shop pair: please be aware that 4 months is the time when the testicles start descending and the teenage months begin, which last for the next ca. 10 months. This is by far the trickiest phase when it shows whether two boars are really character compatible or not. You won't have any guarantee of that, or whether the change of location and the inevitable re-establishment of their hierarchy in new territory won't be the spark to light the fire. Two same aged boars that hit the various hormone spikes together are a much more unstable combination. If you want to go for them, please make sure that you have a plan B at the ready in case they fall out.

PS: Is there any public transport from Nuneaton to Fosse Park? The rescue is not too far from there and I am sure that a pick up from a bus stop at Fosse Park can be arranged.

Thank you. I was a bit concerned about the two 4 months old as I have been advised by one of the members that they are at their best over 12 month old.
Which is what I have been looking for really. Not sure if Hunnybunnies is open tomorrow but will give them a ring.

I have really no idea. That is something I would have to look into. Sundays are about the best day as I can get a lift that day.

You have to speak with the rescue first, but of course if you can get a lift, that would be much easier!
