I don't know, I don't know enough about piggy food to be able to help you, sorry ILA :-\

I would want to know the ingredients. They are not listed on the website. The food has a high vitimin C level which is not necessary if the piggies get adequate veggies, grass etc.

I bought some once, but couldn't get my fussy lot to touch it! I prefer the 'Bunny' food on that site (Bunny is the brand): http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/rodents/food/guinea_pig/14619
They dont do large sacks :-\

They are just pellets though O0 The more vit c the better :D I give mine veg every other day but loads of hay everyday

oh i see so its just what hay is in it - ill have to email them O0

There is such a thing as too much vitamin C. I would want to know if it was alfalfa or timothy based.

Dry foods vary a lot in the vit C content, I'm glad someone else knows about excessive Vit C! It doesn't take a lot to give the adequate daily amount, in the 'old' days when we gave pigs 'straights' there was no added Vit C and they had to get it all from hay and veggies.

Like DSL I would want to know what the food is based on and the size of the pellets :) Its high protein so only a little is needed :) Dry food is only a small part of their diet anyway :)

No, it's the whole lot. It has very high protein, high fat and half the fibre of other decent guinea pig pellets. It has twice the amount of calcium that pellets like Excel have which is not suitable for adult pigs. I would want to know the ingredients to know why.

Guinea pigs need a maximum of 30mg/kg of vitamin C a day. This food has 100 times that. They can easily get the recommended amount from their vegetables. Quite frankly, with that food I'd be seriously worried about overdosing them.

ummmm so they are really suggesting that i give my pigs a tiny handful of these to be the right intake of vit c :-\

Definitely sounds alfalfa based which is a no no for mine :) A recipe for kidney probs and bladderstones perhaps ::)

No, they clearly don't have a clue about the nutritional needs of guinea pigs and have done no research before they made the product. The answer is simple. Don't buy it, don't feed it. There are better, similarly priced pellet foods available.

Ok thanks everyone - that food is scrapped for my pigs then :)
I definitely dont want my piggies to get bladder stones O0

Although i did want my pigs to start on pellets as they are on mix as they always have done :-\ and i cant find ANY thats good for them and the right price for me :P id like big sacks as they work out cheaper too but still go quickly :)

This is only Cavy Cuisine :) You need to work out/see how much they need of your food :)

It should say on the bag. I give mine a handful which I would say is about 25g but if they eat it all I give them more. :)

Oh right well my bag is nearly all gone now and i chop it off so its easy to get out as it gets lower ;D so wont be able to tell until next time i get some more maybe next week sometime ::)

I'm the queen of mean, if they eat it they have to wait till the morning here ::)

I think I'm gunna get a bit "meaner" with their dry food too (although I think in a way it will actually be kinda to them if you know what I mean?) mine have unlimited dry food usually, plus hay constantly of course and veggies 2/3 times a day.

I bought a bag of this when i first got my two pigguns as i was buying their cage from here as far as i can remenber they did scoff it all but they were onli bowt 4 weeks olds and the bag size isnt big it is the same size as your average small sized bag. They know both eat Burgess Excel and was really pleased as i went into pets at home and it has 25% off yay making it cheaper than the pets at home version O0
