I mean like, which product? I dont want any toxic stuff going onto my lil Isaac.

White vinegar; neat for the stubborn scaly corners and diluted in a spray just as a daily wipe round. There are proprietry disenfectants you can buy in pet shops but white vinegar is by far the safest and most natural.

I use pet disenfectant, what one I use varies but I always make sure its safe.
I use it every other cleanout normally but in the summer I use it every time.

I agree with this completely. :) I use white vinegar and water. I don't like the pet disinfectants you can buy because they contain a lot of chemicals etc. but white vinegar is natural and safer.

I use a pet disinfectant from Asda on the cages, on the hutch I use soap and water but then swill it all out so no smell of the soap remains. I find that works best for us. :)

Think I'll get myself some white vinegar - I'm having trouble getting rid off the stubborn stain at the bottom of the cage. I currently use Bob Martin's cage disinfectant but it isn't any good for the stubborn bits. Do you use some sort of scrubber as well?

iv got tuff stains on my boys cage to that wont move which is annoyiny i think i might get myself some white vingar now O0

I use vinegar for the stubborn newspaper stains and the calcium deposits that make it a little gritty every so often, but I use Virkon every time I do a 'proper' disinfect. I also have a spray bottle of Conficlean for the odd cleanup if needed so I don't need to use a whole Virkon tablet.

I leave the vinegar to soak for a while if there are scaly bits then, yes, I use a scrubby like you use for the washing up! Not the same one though lol!

VIneagr is a natural disinfectant

i used to use white vinegar to disinfect my cages, but crissie at GG told me to stop and switch to a disinfectant, so i only use it on tough stains now

i have tried the wilko and P@H ones and didnt like them, i quite like the bob martin one though, i get it from asda usually, when i buy piggy food

can white vinegar be used with rabbits as well?

Sorry random question...

I use vinegar for the white stains (yes, it's also safe for bunnies). I also use Milton sterilising fluid for bowls and bottle, and a steam cleaner for their pen.

I have been usiing white vinigar for ages for all my cleaning, well most of it.I clean my gp pens andbeds with it.Smells fresh and is safe. I do not use any pet disinfectant because they all contain chemicals.

Of course Chrissie at GG would tell peoiple not to use vin igar but to use her disinfectant, she wants to sell it!.Afraid I do not use GG products because most of them contain chemicals.,and why pay postage on things you can get cheaper in the high street!.

I buy my shampoos, lotions and creams etc from a local independant health food store.I can read the labels and see exactly what the ingredients are,and do not have to pay postage. The products are no more expensive than the ones on the internet.

I use Zoflora diluted 40% . and Jeyes fluid. again well diluted, ive had no problems
