and do they lose their appetite or carry on eating? How do they act? I am not sure whether to be concerned about my Jewel right now?

Thanks guys

xx

From my experience they won't eat or drink, they look uncomfortable, will lay on their side, their tummy can look extremely rounded with a noticeable lump, if you flick the side of their tummy gently you'll hear a hollow noise if they're bloated. They'll also generally seem depressed, dull eyed and fidgity. Has she pooed recently?

If in doubt call the vet, I lost my poor Jakey to bloat last night :(

Aw I am so sorry. Thanks for taking the time to reply to my post, especially how you must be feeling.

Well Jewel just ate some lettuce (which I gave her before I noticed). She just looks bigger around the tummy area to me, like she is bulging out on the sides. I havent really seen how she has been laying lately as she has constantly been in her hidey house - which is unlike her.

I think she is fine seen as she was just excited about lettuce, but will keep an eye out. I just wanted to make myself aware of what to look for (as I was quite worried looking at her then). She wasn't wriggling at all when I was holding her then - usually you cannot keep her still.

xx
