Gentle ear nibbling is the mildest dominance behaviour of them all. It translates as 'I want you to be a member of the herd I am leading'.

Ear grooming/nibbling basically means, "I want you in my group." It's affectionate in nature. I've seen it most when a new piggie is introduced or when a piggie has been away (i.e. at the vet) for a period of time and is getting welcomed back.
