Hi just wondered what food you use for your piggies apart from Hay and fresh veg and fruit. There doesn't seem to be much choice at our local pet shop but at the farm shop there is quite a few large sacks of different stuff. Please advise it would be interesting to see if there is one which seems to be more popular. Thankyou. I am using Spillars Museli and also Burgess nuggets with blackcurrent and oregano.

My lot have the Burgess Blackcurrant and Oregano too. They sometimes have the original Excel nuggets as well and seem to quite like them.

They used to eat Pets at Home nuggets which they like and have tried Supreme Science Selective but weren't keen

I tried burgess nuggets and they didnt touch it rolleyes My friend at the wholesalers could only find muesli mr johnsons so I got a big bag of that (which they pick at but love). I then tried JR from zooplus which they also love - as I want them to get onto complete nuggets rather than muesli, but they still prefur the muesli.

I am currently being mean and have put just wagg optimum and the JR in the food bowls which they have eaten all the JR and will have to see how much wagg they have eaten in the morning. (I will put back the muesli tomorrow as I rather them be picky than not eat any dry food)

I give my 4 girls a half/half mix of Burgess Excel and Oxbow Cavy Cuisine. I added the Cavy Cuisine because it is timothy hay based and so better for adult piggies. However, I can only get Cavy Cuisine online so I mix in the Excel, which I can get locally, which means, if I run out of Cavy Cuisine and the delivery is delayed for some reason, I can just give them the Excel without worrying about tummy upsets.

Burgess Excel but at the moment Wagg Guinea Pig Crunch because we have a lot of them to feed and not much cash. That is very cheap at Morrisons currently, only £1.80 for a 2kg bag I believe. Although they do tend to pick at it and are better on the Burgess Excel nuggets.

Mine have tried Science Selective....no, thanks.......Burgess Excel.....no thanks......Burgess Blackcurrant & Oregano......no thanks.......so guess what's the only food they'll eat? Blinkin' Pets @ Home nuggets.....typical, eh? ;)

Originally my first two girls were on burgess, but with the addition of Teaser, they were on the P@H pellets which they love, but as we're not close to P@H, I have to trek across town from my mum's shop and now I have 9 rather than 3 hungry mouths to feed, I simply can't carry that much food! We've transitioned them over to Wagg Optimum which we can get from the local farm shop, which went down really really well the first night with two empty bowls in the herd hutch.

Now though, I'm not sure they like it... I've put a bowl of Burgess in for them as we have more than half of a 10kilo bag that came with Bean that we'd like to use! I'll have to see how that goes down, we can mix Wagg with that if need be. I hope they start munching the Wagg again, I don't fancy having to go and get 10 kilo bags of P@H...

Just Wilko's own dried guinea pig food for my boys.

They seem to like :)

Having said this... I bought Wagg this weekend because it was on special at the supermarket.

They ABSOLUTELY love it! -c

Will probably keep buying this for them.
