What other foods Can i try for my lil blind Lucy?

Only eats Lettuce and outside grass, Maybe lil bits of apple

Tried Carrots- nope
Green Peppers (did at first but now wont eat them)
Kale
Strawberries
grapes
Brocoli
green beans

What else is good and cheap that I can try that they might love/like?

Thanks

Cilantro, parsley, lettuces (iceberg is not great as it has very little nutrition, but you can try other varieties), tomatoes, sweetcorn (on the cob if you can get it - all of it can be eaten). Cucumber, celery, other green coloured cabbages.

I just got parsley and Lucy Smelled it and ducked her head like she was saying YUCK, she wont touch that either, I have no idea why she is so picky, I'm running out of options and I dont want her to get bored with lettuce and grass! i dont know what else I can try?

have you tried other coloured peppers?

if you leave it in her cage for a little bit she might eat it eventually.

When you introduce it has she already had food? I.e is she full up on something else?

My two will only try new things after they haven't had anything else to eat. They wouldn't eat green peppers the first time I tried but their food bowls were in the cage, so yesterday I gave them to try again but when they were in their run and didn't have their food bowls there.

I have left it in there for a full day and nothing, she stayed away from it.

I have only tried green peppers, i will try a yellow or red and see what happens, buddy will eat anything and everything, so i just give him the parsley now lol.. Dont know why she has to be so picky! lol atleast she eats though, i just would like ot be able to find something different and not so boring all the time.. picky picky

Try coriander, youll find it in the herb section next to the parsley, its got quite a strong smell, my girls go nuts over it.

Does she like sweetcorn? I give Terry baby corn and he looooooves it. Or cauliflower leaves are a hit too.

i will try some coriander next..

I have never tried sweetcorn... just get a cob of it from the store and leave it in there? no issues with that?

I have tried the Husks from corn on the cob with buddy and he absolutely loved them....

Yeah no problem they love it all :)

I will have to try that,

you can jsut give her one whole big cob and let her go to town? Shoudl the husks come off or just let it be and toss it in? That seems like a lot of food, if i give her that should it just be there by itself, nothing else with it?

Mine love spring greens/spring cabbage (however you call it) the really dark green leaves. They'd munch a whole leaf in seconds! Others they like are green pepper, but they do go off that, cucumber, lettuce and broccoli.

Hope you find something she likes soon :)

I don't give him a whole big cob to himself, I just give him one baby corn (the mini version) he eats it sooo quickly.

Oh, Where do you find the baby ones? I dont see them in the grocery stores here in the states....

do you think she might prefer more natural foods? if she likes grass so much and lettuce which is a leafy green. ches and maisie have had apple sticks and leaves and loved them. they can have pear sticks and leaves aswell i think. and willow. dandelion leaves aswell?

my two are not fussy in the slightest and have a variety of leafy greens:

coriander
parsley
basil
thyme
dill
curly kale
pak choi
lettuces (curly, romaine, hearts of romaine, little gem, the mixed lettuce bags without iceberg)
rocket
watercress
spinach
red chard
wild rocket
think there are more but can't think of them at the minute! mallethead

they also have different hays, meadow, timothy, oat etc, and they like dried herbs aswell, the coneflower, dandelion, coltsfoot, plantain, ginko plus (get them from hayexperts)

then other things like grass, the natural sticks and leaves, dandelion leaves etc.

i would try the leafy things mixed in with some grass. :)
