I know I know lol but went in pets at home today and saw a male guinea in the rehoming bit and it said 'been abandoned by owner'. Does any one know what happens to these animals if they don't find a home?

I don't think we should think about that.....I think i am in blissful ignorance....urgh I dread to think :(
Your right . seems strange but i have never thought about it before.

Having got my first piggy after a pet shop scared me into thinking he was destined for PTS I now avoid looking at pet shop piggies as I go mad with worry on what happens to those that don't get bought/adopted. I'm not saying that's what happens but knowing what I know now about pet shops now I wouldn't put it past them.

I believe all animals in the adoption centre in Pets at Home stay there until they are rehomed, no matter how long that takes (there is a charity involved in that part too - it's not just a pets at home thing). Apparently they are usually not there longer than a couple of weeks as people feel sorry for them and take them on, over choosing a baby from the main store pens. All the unsold Pets at Home babies go through the adoption centre, once they get too old to sell from the main pens. Despite its reputation pets at home doesn't pts unsold animals (I'm not saying they are good in other areas just in not putting to sleep unnecessarily).

we got 2 of ours from PAH adoption . They were up for adoption together and they couldn't be more spoilt now ! The black and white (Sparkle) one and the ginger one(Rusty) in my avatar. They live happily as a trio with Ginger (in the middle ... yes I realise that she's not really ginger !)

Jack (avatar) was a P&H adoptee. Frankly after the appalling job they did on removing his eye, I didn't think people were going to give him the care he deserved and had already been through enough. I just can't look anymore...I just think of those poor things in rescue centres and help individuals who give their time and money to help those rather than the corporates.
